IOWA YOUTH CHORALE OVERALL FESTIVAL SCHEDULE

Wednesday, July 13, 2011 –
    12:30pm – 3:00pm Iowa Youth Chorale (IYC) members arrive at Petoskey High School in             their own vans in time to attend a Voices Without Borders (VWB) Choir rehearsal with             Oscar Escalada at Petoskey High School, 1500 Hill Street, Petoskey, MI 49770.
    3:00pm Iowa uses own vans to go to the St. Frances Xavier Church 513 Howard St.                         Petoskey MI 49770 to rehearse briefly for the evening joint concert with the Little                     Traverse Youth Choir.
    4:30pm Iowa Youth Chorale members are assigned home stays with Host families at the     
        church. Go home with host families to rest and have dinner.
    7:00pm Return choir members to St. Francis Church dressed for the evening concert with             the Little Traverse Youth Choir.
     7:30pm Joint concert with Little Traverse Youth Choir at St. Francis Xavier Church. The                 concert is FREE and open to the community. Good will offering accepted to support the         festival.
    8:45pm Hosts pick up Iowa choir members and return home for the night.
        

Thursday, July 14, 2011 – 10:15am After breakfast, the hosts drop off Iowa YC members                    at Petoskey High School. At 1500 Hill Street, Petoskey, MI, 49770. Wear Festival T-shirts.
    10:30 am–1:00pm Iowa members rehearse VWB Choir music at Petoskey High School
        with Oscar Escalada.
     1:00pm Iowa Choir members have lunch at the high school hosted by the Little Traverse             Youth Choir and Parent Group.
     2:00-4:00pm All choirs rehearse at Petoskey High School for the Festival Choir Concert.         4:00pm Host families pick up the Iowa Choir members at the Petoskey High School and             take them home for dinner and a little rest.
    7:00pm Hosts deliver all Iowa choir members to Petoskey High School dressed for the                 concert.
    7:30pm All Choir members perform in the Festival’s Choir Day Concert. This is a ticketed             event. One free ticket to each host family. Additional host family tickets are $5. Non-host         family adult tickets are $10 and students through high school are $5
    9:00pm Host families pick-up Iowa choir members at the end of the concert to return home
        for the night.

Friday, July 15, 2011 8:45am - Host family drop off Iowa choir members at Crooked Tree Arts             Center (461 E. Mitchell St. Petoskey, MI 49770) to rehearse VWB music with Oscar                     Escalada. Choirs wear their own choir T-shirts. Please send a sack lunch.
    9:00am - 10:15am Iowa choir members rehearse VWB music at Crooked Tree Arts Center.
    10:30am – 11:30am All Festival Participants including dancers rehearse “Let There be                 Peace on Earth” at Crooked Tree Arts Center.
    11:30am All festival groups walk to Pennsylvania Park in downtown Petoskey to perform             and watch other groups. Iowa Youth Chorale performs at approximately 12:30pm.                     Groups will eat the sack lunch provided by their host family at a time convenient to                 them. Groups needing to change into costumes may do so at the arts center prior to
         walking to the park.
    3:15pm At the conclusion of the Concerts in the Park performance,
          host families will pick up the Iowa choir members at the church and take them home for           dinner.
    7:00pm Hosts return  Iowa choir members to the Crooked Tree Arts Center to get ready for
           the concert.
    7:30pm Iowa Choir members and selected ensembles Concert at Crooked Tree Arts Center            with the German Choir. This is a ticketed event. One free ticket to each host family.                   Additional host family tickets are $5. Non host family adult tickets are $10 and                           students through high school are $5.
    9:00pm Host families pick-up Iowa choir members at the end of the concert to return home            for the night.

Saturday, July 16, 2011 9:45am After breakfast, Iowa Choir members should be delivered to         the Hall Auditorium (1715 Encampment Avenue, Petoskey, MI 49770) at Bay View to get             ready for the full rehearsal for the Gala Concert that evening. Host family please provide a       snack. Fruit, cookie and water. Please wear your own choir T-shirts
10:00am – 1:00pm All Festival performers will rehearse for the Festival Gala Concert at the         John M. Hall Auditorium in Bay View.
1:00 pm. If it is good weather Iowa choir will go to the beach. If it is raining, the will go                 shopping downtown.
2:00pm Lunch for Directors (two per group for all festival groups at the _to be determined.
     Transportation provided.
4:30pm Host families pick up the Iowa choir member at the         
    United Methodist Church at 1804 Mitchell St., Petoskey, MI and take them home for dinner         and to get ready for the concert.
6:45pm All choir members should be returned to Bay View dressed for the Festival Gala         Concert.
7:30pm Festival Gala Concert at John M. Hall Auditorium in Bay View, featuring all festival             groups. This is a ticketed event. Each host family will receive two free tickets to this                 concert. Additional tickets: Adults $15, students through high school $5. 9:30pm Host             families pick-up their guests at the end of the concert return home for the night.

Sunday, July 17, 2011 –
    8:00am Host families take the Iowa Choir members to the Petoskey United Methodist                    Church at 1804 E. Mitchell St. in Petoskey to meet for the return to Iowa. Please send a             sack lunch with the Iowa choir members.
