3:52pm NIÑOS Y JÓVENES CANTORES (Mexico) arrives in Grand Rapids on United Airlines. Flight #766W 11 July from Chicago at 3.52P.M. You will be met by Dale Hull of the VWB Board. Take Festival bus to Charlevoix where they will stay in the Americinn Lodge & Suites Motel (11800 US 31 N. Charlevoix, Michigan. Tel. 231 237 0988) Motel contact Randi Hunter, General Manager. The rooms are provided by the Festival office. Dinner on the way to Charlevoix. Tuesday, July 12, 2011 – 7:45am Depart motel for the Beaver Island Ferry dock to board ferry for Charlevoix. 8:30am Ferry Departs for Beaver Island Mexico Choir leaves Charlevoix and arrives on Beaver Island. See Beaver Island insert schedule on page 3 11:30am Arrive at Beaver Island to be met by Ann Partridge. Schedule for the Island to come from Ann Partridge. See a detailed Beaver Island itinerary on page 3. 7:00pm Concert at Beaver Island Community Center. Wednesday, July 13, 2011 – 11:20am Choir departs Beaver Island by ferry to Charlevoix. Beaver Island hosts please send a sack lunch. Wear Festival T-shirt. 1:30pm Ferry arrives in Charlevoix. VWB Choir members load immediately in van and go directly to the VWB Choir rehearsal at Petoskey high school 1500 Hill Street, Petoskey, MI. Their luggage is loaded on to bus going to Indian River. The rest of the choir loads all
luggage on to Festival bus and departs with the luggage for Cross in the Woods Shrine in Indian River (7078 M-68 Indian River, MI 49749 2:20pm – 3:00pm VWB Choir rehearsal with Oscar Escalada at Petoskey High School. 3:00pm Following the VWB Choir rehearsal, the 12 VWB Choir members and one adult will go in the van to Cross in the Woods in Indian River. Choir arrives in Indian River 3:00pm approximately Choir, minus 12 VWB Choir members and 1 adult, arrive at Indian River. Walk through and brief rehearsal in the Cross in the Woods Sanctuary. Sorry, the Mexico VWB choir members will miss this rehearsal/walk through. 4:00pm VWB choir members arrive at Indian River and all choir members are assigned home stays with Indian River host families. 7:00pm Return to Cross in the Woods dressed for the evening concert which starts at 7:30pm. 7:30pm Concert at Cross in the Woods. FREE and open to the public. Good will offering accepted to help with festival expenses. 8:30pm Hosts take choir members home for the night. Thursday, July 14, 2011 – 9:30am After breakfast 12 VWB Choir members and 1 adult will depart Indian River to go to Petoskey High School. Transportation will be provided. Wear their Festival T-shirt. 10:30 am–1:00pm VWB Choir members rehearse at Petoskey High School with Oscar Escalada. 1:00pm VWB Choir members have lunch at the high school hosted by the Little Traverse Youth Choir and Parent Group. 1:00pm After breakfast and lunch with the host family, the choir minus 12 VWB Choir members and one adult will take the Festival bus from Indian River to the rehearsal at Petoskey High School. Lunch with Indian River host families prior to leaving. Wear their Festival T-shirt. Choir departs Indian River arrives in Petoskey 2:00-4:00pm All Choirs attend the rehearsal for the Festival Choir Concert at Petoskey High School. 4:00pm All host families come to the High School and be assigned to their Choir members and take them home for dinner and a little rest. 7:00pm All choir members are returned to the High School dressed for the evening choir concert. This is a ticketed event. One free ticket to each host family. Additional host family tickets are $5. Non-host family adult tickets are $10 and students through high school are $5. 7:30pm All Choir members perform in the Festival’s Choir Day Concert. 9:00pm Host families pick-up their guests at the end of the concert to return home for the night. Friday, July 15, 2011 – 8:45am VWB Choir Members arrive at Crooked Tree Arts Center in own choir T-Shirt 9:00am - 10:15am VWB Choir members rehearse at a Crooked Tree Arts Center (461 E. Mitchell St. Petoskey, MI 49770). Please send a sack lunch. Informal outdoor concert dress (could be choir T-shirt). 10:30am – 11:30am All Festival participants including dancers rehearse “Let There be Peace on Earth” at Crooked Tree Arts Center. Host families please provide a sack lunch. 11:30am All festival groups will walk to Pennsylvania Park in downtown Petoskey to perform. Mexico group performs at 1:40pm. Groups will eat the sack lunch provided by their host family at a time convenient to the group. Groups needing to change into costumes may do so at the arts center prior to walking to the park. 3:30pm At the conclusion of the Concerts in the Park performance participants will be picked up by host families for dinner. This is a free evening for the non-VWB Choir members. 7:00pm VWB Choir members will return to Crooked Tree Arts Center to get ready for the concert. 7:30pm VWB Choir and selected ensembles Concert at Crooked Tree Arts Center. This is a ticketed event. One free ticket to each host family. Additional host family tickets are $5. Non-host family adult tickets are $10 and students through high school are $5. 9:00pm Following the concert, VWB Choir members need to be picked up by their host families to go home for the night. Saturday, July 16, 2011 – 9:45am All singers and dancers need to arrive at John M. Hall Auditorium (1715 Encampment Avenue, Petoskey, MI 49770) at Bay View for a dress rehearsal for the Gala Concert that evening. Host families, please send a snack. 10:00am – 1:00pm All singers and dancers must be on time to rehearse for the Festival Gala Concert at John M. Hall Auditorium in Bay View. 1:00 pm. All singers and dancers should be picked up to return home for lunch and dinner. This is free time so hosts may want to take them to the beach or Kilwin’s new candy factory (1050 Bay View Road, Petoskey, MI 49770), etc. 2:00pm Lunch for Directors (2 per group) at to be determined. Transportation provided. 6:45pm All choir members need to be returned to the John M. Hall Auditorium at Bay View dressed for the Festival Gala Concert. The doors open to the public at 7:00pm. 7:30pm Festival Gala Concert at John M. Hall Auditorium in Bay View, featuring all festival groups. Each host family will receive two free tickets to this concert. Additional tickets: Adults $15, Students through High School $5. 9:30pm All singers and dancers are to be picked up by the host families following the concert. Sunday, July 17, 2011 – 10:00am Sing at Sunday service at the Petoskey United Methodist Church 1804 E. Mitchell St. Petoskey 49770 and other activities throughout the day. Monday, July 18, 2011 9:00am Petoskey UMC Departure of Choir Breakfast and sack lunch provided.
