Wednesday, July 13, 2011 – Mid-day Lunch on your own. Zirka arrives in Petoskey in their own bus and checks into the Super 8 Motel, 2645 Charlevoix Ave, Petoskey, MI 49770. (231) 439-8000, 3:00pm Zirka uses own bus to go to the Odmark Pavilion in downtown Charlevoix, on the east side of Bridge Street (Michigan Highway 31) between E. Mason St. and E. Antrim St. We will arrange a time to put down mats if you need them. This is a concrete stage and to have a brief run-through on stage before having an evening meal. Gary Stutzman is in charge. Please work with Jan Amand (president) of Symbolica to work out alternating pieces so you cover costume changes. Gary Stutzman will introduce the groups. Gary can arrange for 6 inch Subway sandwiches and drink for $4 if you want. Please call him if you want him to make these arrangements you can eat them between the rehearsal and the performance. 7:00pm Joint performance at Odmark Pavilion with Symbolica Vlaggendansgroep, a flag dance group from Belgium. FREE and open to the community. Following the performance, Zirka Returns to the motel in their bus for the night. Thursday, July 14, 2011 – 9:30am After breakfast at the Motel, stage crew goes to Bay Harbor 4000 Main Street, Bay Harbor, MI 49770 to check out the site for the evening performance. 10:30 am–4:30pm Free time to go to the beach, tour Kilwin’s Chocolate Factory, etc. Lunch (Deli Sandwiches will be provided by Big Apple Bagels at 1125 N.US 31 Highway. We will need to pick up the lunches at 11:00am and get them to you. 4:30pm Return to the motel to change. 5:30pm Take bus to Seventh Day Adventist church for evening meal. 1404 Howard St., Petoskey, MI 49770 6:15pm Depart frm the church by bus to Bay Harbor Village 4000 Main Street, Bay Harbor, MI 49770 to prepare for the performance. 7:30pm Performance at Bay Harbor. Strike mats following the performance. FREE event open to the public. 8:15pm Free time after striking the mats and then back to the motel for the night. Friday, July 15, 2011 – Breakfast at the Motel 9:00am Zirka crew places mats on stage at Pennsylvania Park at East Lake Street between Howard St. and Division St. near gazebo in downtown Petoskey. 10:30am – 11:30am All Festival Participants including dancers rehearse “Let There be Peace on Earth” at Crooked Tree Arts Center. (461 E. Mitchell St. Petoskey, MI 49770). 11:30am All festival groups will walk to Pennsylvania Park in downtown Petoskey to perform and watch other groups. Zirka performs at approximately 2:15pm. Lunch provided by Cormack’s Deli. We will have one of our volunteers pick them up at 11:00am and bring them to you at Pennsylvania Park. Change into costumes at the arts center prior to walking to the park. Immediately following the performance in the park, Zirka will strike the mats, change out of costumes and will drive directly to the Cheboygan Opera House 403 N. Huron St, Cheboygan, MI 49721 for a rehearsal. The Marley Floor will be pre-set and is provided by the Opera House. Midge Shaw is the director of the performance. Please follow her directions carefully. The evening meal will be provided by the Opera House before the performance. _??_ As soon as you arrive at the Opera House, move in and hang costumes. Run through on stage when called. Please be ready. 4:30pm Meal will be served backstage by Opera House caterer. 6:00pm Walk through of the entire program in costumes 7:00pm Back Stage ready to perform. 7:30pm FESTIVAL DANCE CONCERT at the Cheboygan Opera House featuring three dance groups. 9:30pm At the end of the concert, Zirka will return to the motel for the night Saturday, July 16, 2011 – am Breakfast at the Motel 9:45am All singers and dancers should arrive at the John M. Hall Auditorium (1715, Encampment Avenue, Petoskey, MI 49770) at Bay View. to get ready for the full rehearsal for the Gala Concert that evening. Snack provided. 10:00am – 1:00pm All Festival performers will rehearse for the Festival Gala Concert at the John M. Hall Auditorium in Bay View. Lunch following the rehearsal at KFC/Taco Bell 1191 N US Highway 31, Petoskey, MI 49770.1:00 pm – What do you plan to do during this period of time? Go to the beach. Petoskey State Park is nice and it is quite close. 2475 M-119, Petoskey. The phone is 231 347 2311.call ahead about 15 minutes before arrival to tell them you are coming. The fee is $15 for the bus. 2:00pm Lunch for Directors (2) of all festival groups at the to be determined. Transport provided. 4:00pm or earlier. If you wish, you may return to the Super 8 motel to shower in the pool shower room. Dan at the motel said you could us his towels. You will need to finish in time to get to the YMCA 5:00pm Evening meal (Jets Pizza) provided we will deliver them to the YMCA at 622 Howard St. Petoskey. You may also change into your costumes at the YMCA prior to going to the Bay View Concert. 6:45pm All dancers and choir members should be at Bay View dressed for the Festival Gala Concert. 7:30pm Festival Gala Concert at John M. Hall Auditorium in Bay View, featuring all festival groups. This is a ticketed event. Each host family will receive two free tickets to this concert. Additional tickets: Adults $15, students through high school $5. 9:30pm Depart for home from Hall Auditorium. Have a safe journey and THANKS FOR COMING.
